A major road accident occurred in the Vakola area of Mumbai, where a speeding auto-rickshaw hit a pedestrian, resulting in his death on the spot. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Sitaram Gurav (49), a resident of Vakola. The Vakola police have arrested the accused auto driver, Imran Abdul Rashid Ansari, in connection with the incident.

 

The accident took place on the evening of February 17, around 7 PM. According to the police, Sitaram Gurav was walking towards Santacruz Station to visit his relatives. As he reached near the Vakola signal, a speeding auto-rickshaw coming from the wrong direction hit him. Gurav suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot.

 

Following a complaint filed by his cousin, Sanjay Gurav, the police registered a case and arrested the auto driver. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
