Mumbai Police organized a special Women's Grievance Redressal Day on Saturday, marking International Women’s Day. During the event, grievances of nearly 1,500 women were addressed and resolved. Additionally, various awareness programs were conducted across different police zones in the city. A total of 6,463 women participated in these programs at various police stations across Mumbai.

Mumbai Police conducts a Grievance Redressal Day every Saturday at all police stations to resolve complaints filed by citizens. On this day, complaints are reviewed, and necessary actions are taken, including registering cognizable and non-cognizable offenses based on the nature of the complaint.

This week, since March 8 coincided with International Women’s Day, the police department dedicated the day exclusively to women’s grievances. Special grievance redressal programs were held at all police stations under 13 police zones across Mumbai. Apart from resolving complaints, various women-centric programs were organized, focusing on security, health, and awareness.

As part of the initiative, Mumbai's 94 police stations processed 1,471 women’s complaints, registering some as cognizable offenses while resolving others at the station level. On this occasion, commendable women from different fields were honored, and awareness sessions on women’s safety were conducted. Additionally, health camps, blood donation camps, and self-defense guidance programs were held. Women officers and personnel with outstanding performance were also felicitated.

This initiative by Mumbai Police was aimed at providing a safe and supportive environment for women while spreading awareness about their rights and safety.
