Mumbai, Maharashtra (May 27, 2025): A large tree fell on three youths at Ganesh Maidan in Kannamwar Nagar Two in Vikhroli on Monday, May 26, 2025. One of them, identified as Tejas Naidu, 25, died in the incident. The other two escaped without injuries. Police and fire brigade teams reached the spot and cleared the tree by cutting it into parts. Local residents blamed the municipal authorities for negligence, stating the tree did not fall from the roots but collapsed from its weakened side. Residents demanded action against responsible officials and financial help for the deceased’s family.

Heavy Rain and High Tide Alert for Mumbai
Meanwhile, heavy rains returned to Mumbai on Monday morning. The India Meteorological Department issued another alert for the city. A high tide of 4.1 meters is expected at 11 p.m. on Monday night with waves reaching up to 13 feet.
On Tuesday, the first high tide is expected at 12:14 p.m. with a height of 4.92 meters and waves likely to reach 15 feet. Another high tide of 4.08 meters is expected at 11:54 p.m. on Tuesday night.
The weather department has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai and an orange alert for Raigad and Konkan regions. Rain is also expected across parts of the state on Tuesday.
