In a shocking incident in Santacruz, a 41-year-old man was brutally murdered after an argument with a speeding scooter rider. The accused, identified as Ahmed Ehsan Ansari, allegedly attacked Omprakash Malhu Sharma with a cement block, leading to his death. Vakola Police have arrested Ansari and booked him for murder.

The incident took place around 4:30 AM on Sunday near Chimanlal School in Santacruz. The victim, Omprakash Malhu Sharma, lived in the Golibar area of Santacruz and worked as a carpenter. He was walking home with his friend Rajmangal Gupta when the accused, Ahmed Ansari, sped past them on his scooter.

As Ansari suddenly applied brakes near Chimanlal School, Omprakash sarcastically asked him, "Are you driving a helicopter?" This led to a heated argument between them.

In a fit of rage, Ansari picked up a cement block from the roadside and struck Omprakash on the head, leaving him seriously injured. He was rushed to V.N. Desai Hospital, where he was admitted to the ICU. However, despite medical treatment, he succumbed to his injuries.

Initially, the police registered a case of attempt to murder, but after Omprakash's death, the charges were upgraded to murder. The accused had fled the scene but was later arrested by Vakola Police. He is currently in police custody, and further investigation is underway.
