Malvani Police have registered a case against a 28-year-old man, Jitesh Gade, in connection with the suicide of a 22-year-old woman from Malad. According to the police investigation, the woman was in a relationship with Jitesh for four years, but he deceived her by marrying another woman in January. Unable to bear the betrayal, she ended her life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her grandmother's house.

The tragic incident occurred on Monday, February 10, at around 9 PM in the Marve Road area of Malvani, Malad. The deceased lived with her mother and brother in the same locality and had been working as an invitation designer for the past three years. She had been friends with Jitesh, who also resided in the area, for the last four years. However, she never disclosed her relationship with him to her family. A few days ago, her mother learned about the affair through acquaintances but chose not to question her daughter.

On January 26, 2025, Jitesh reportedly got married to another woman in his native village. When the victim came to know about it, she was devastated. On the night of February 9, around 1:30 AM, she returned home with minor injuries on her face. When her mother inquired, she dismissed it, saying she had fallen on the road. The next morning, at 10 AM, she left home, saying she was going to work, but never returned.

As the day passed, her mother and brother tried calling her multiple times, but she did not respond. Around 9 PM, her brother, who was out for a walk, learned that she had been found hanging at her grandmother’s house.

Upon discovering her in an unconscious state, her family rushed her to Shatabdi Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. The police investigation revealed that Jitesh had promised to marry the woman but later married someone else. Unable to cope with the betrayal, she took the extreme step.

The victim’s mother filed a complaint at Malvani Police Station, holding Jitesh responsible for her daughter’s death. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case against Jitesh Gade under charges of abetment to suicide. Further investigation is ongoing, and Jitesh is expected to be questioned soon.
