A disturbing CCTV video has surfaced, showing a seven-year-old boy and his mother repeatedly assaulting a three-year-old child inside a lift at a high-rise building in Mumbai. The footage, taken at Kanakia Paris near Bandra Kurla Complex, captures the boy hitting the toddler multiple times while his mother uses his hand to strike the child.

According to a India Today report, the incident occurred in front of the three-year-old's caretaker, who was holding the victim's 22-month-old sibling and trying to shield the child from further harm. Despite the caretaker's efforts to intervene, the mother continued to assault the young child. The father of the three-year-old, Shrinivasan Ramchandran, has filed a complaint against the woman, Priyanka Gandhi, and her son. Following the complaint, the police registered a case under Section 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act, which deals with voluntary causing of hurt.

A senior police officer involved in the investigation later confirmed that a notice was issued to the accused to ensure appropriate behavior. Since the sections invoked are non-cognisable, the case does not warrant an arrest at this stage.
