Mumbai's Nehru Nagar Police have registered a case against five individuals in a shocking incident. The accused allegedly sexually assaulted a female railway police officer and demanded ₹20 lakh in extortion, threatening to circulate her obscene videos and photos.
According to the Nehru Nagar Police, the main accused repeatedly assaulted the victim since 2021. He had also married her. During the marriage, the accused created obscene photos and videos of the 25-year-old victim. Using these, the accused demanded ₹10 lakh in extortion from the victim.
Investigations revealed that the main accused was previously married, and his wife also threatened the victim. A friend of the accused was also involved in these threats. The accused's wife and friend also demanded ₹10 lakh in extortion from the victim, threatening to circulate her obscene photos if the money was not paid. Additionally, the main accused's mother allegedly verbally abused the victim.
Based on the victim's complaint, the Nehru Nagar Police have registered a case under Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 308 (1), 351 (1) (2), 352, 64 (2) (D), and 69. The incidents occurred between 2021 and January 2025, as stated in the complaint. The accused assaulted the victim at various locations, including Mulund, Andheri, Kalyan, Chembur, and Lonavala.
The Nehru Nagar Police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
