In a shocking incident reported from the Sion area of Mumbai, two minor girls, aged six and eight, were subjected to sexual assault. The accused, a 25-year-old man, has been booked under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, including charges of rape and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

 

 

According to police sources, the victims were playing in the Sion area on Monday evening when the accused lured them behind a vehicle. He then allegedly subjected them to inappropriate touching and sexual assault, leaving the young girls traumatized.

 

 

Following the incident, one of the girls narrated the ordeal to her family members, who immediately approached the Dharavi police station to file a complaint. Taking cognizance of the grave nature of the crime, the police promptly registered a case under sections 65,66 (2) of the BNS and relevant sections of the POCSO Act.

 

 

 

The victims were taken to the Lokmanya Tilak Hospital in Sion for medical examination and necessary treatment. The accused, who works in a factory in the Sion area, has been identified and is currently under police investigation. Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
