Mumbai Shocker: Urban Company Masseuse Allegedly Assaults Woman After Massage Session Cancellation in Wadala; Probe On (Watch Video)

A dispute involving an Urban Company service booking in Mumbai’s Wadala area has escalated into a police investigation after a woman alleged the masseuse assaulted her. According to the complaint, the incident occurred after the woman cancelled a massage appointment booked through the online service app. The masseuse had arrived at the complainant’s residence, and the situation reportedly turned violent following the cancellation. A video of the alleged altercation has also surfaced and is circulating widely on social media, drawing public attention to the matter and prompting authorities to examine the sequence of events more closely.

Police said the complainant is a 46-year-old woman who lives with her son in Wadala. She had booked a massage service through the Urban Company app as she was suffering from a frozen shoulder condition. The masseuse reached her home at the scheduled time, but the woman claimed she felt uncomfortable due to the therapist’s behaviour and the large massage bed brought along. As a result, she decided to cancel the session and initiated the refund process through the application shortly after the masseuse’s arrival.

The woman has alleged that the masseuse became angry immediately after the booking was cancelled and began arguing with her. The verbal exchange allegedly escalated into physical violence, during which the masseuse is accused of using abusive language and assaulting the complainant. The woman claimed her hair was pulled, she was punched in the face, scratched on different parts of her body, and pushed to the ground. It was also alleged that when her son tried to intervene, he was pushed during the altercation.

During the incident, the complainant reportedly called the police helpline number 100 to seek immediate assistance. Police personnel reached the spot soon after receiving the call, but by that time, the accused masseuse had already left the premises. Following this, the woman went to the Wadala police station and submitted a written complaint detailing the incident and the alleged assault. Based on her statement, police began preliminary action in connection with the case and recorded the necessary details.

Wadala police have registered a non-cognisable complaint against the accused masseuse and initiated an investigation into the matter. During the probe, police found that there were some technical issues related to the identification and name of the accused on the app, which were later rectified. Authorities are also examining the viral video linked to the incident and are verifying all related aspects. Police said all angles of the case are being thoroughly investigated to ascertain the facts.
