A heated argument over speaking loudly on a mobile phone turned tragic in Kandivali West, as a youth was allegedly pushed off a building by his co-worker on Monday morning. The victim, who was seriously injured in the incident, later succumbed to his injuries. The Kandivali police have arrested the accused and registered a case of murder.

The deceased has been identified as Jitendra Chauhan, while the accused, Afsar Jamir Uddin Alam, has been taken into custody. The shocking incident has sent waves of concern across the Kandivali area.

According to police, the incident took place at a construction site of the under-construction “Daivi Eternity” building located in Saibaba Nagar, Kandivali. A group of around 12-13 carpenters were employed there under CG Lifespace Company, with a supervisor appointed to oversee their work.

The trouble began on Saturday night, after the workers had wrapped up their day’s tasks and were watching IPL matches on their phones while sitting in an open space on the second floor. During this time, the accused Afsar Jamir approached Jitendra Chauhan and asked him for tobacco, but Chauhan refused.

Later around 10 PM, Chauhan was reportedly speaking loudly on a phone call, which irritated Afsar. The accused confronted him, asking him to lower his voice, which escalated into an argument between the two. Other workers intervened and resolved the dispute at that moment.

However, the situation took a deadly turn when Chauhan was standing near the edge of the building. Afsar allegedly approached him and pushed him off the second floor. Chauhan sustained severe head injuries from the fall and was immediately rushed to Shatabdi Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Following the incident, Kandivali Police registered a case of murder against Afsar Jamir Uddin Alam and placed him under arrest. Further investigations are underway.
