A tiffin box supplier in Mumbai has been arrested for sexual harassment after sending pornographic images and a video to a 20-year-old college student. The student, who lives in Chira Bazaar and attends college in Churchgate, had arranged for daily meal deliveries from the supplier. Due to her college schedule, she rarely saw the delivery person. When the regular delivery driver was away, she contacted the new driver to provide delivery instructions.
That evening, around 11:00 PM, she received unsolicited obscene photos and a video on WhatsApp from the new delivery person. She immediately reported the incident to her roommates and friends and filed a police complaint the next day at the LT Marg Police Station. Police arrested the married man, whose family lives in Rajasthan, and registered an FIR under sections 75 (1) (iii) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (showing pornography against a woman’s will) and 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (publishing obscene material in electronic form). He was produced in court and remanded to judicial custody.
