The Mumbai Traffic Police issued an advisory on Thursday, informing the public about significant traffic slowdowns expected on March 8-9 due to the Lollapalooza India 2025 event at Mahalaxmi Racecourse. The event, which is set to attract a large crowd, will coincide with road construction work on Arthur Road, Sant Ghadge Maharaj Road, and Senapati Bapat Road, which will worsen the traffic conditions.

In light of this, the Mumbai Police recommend using trains, monorails, and other public transportation options for a smoother commute to the venue. In a post on X, the Mumbai Police also mentioned, "It’s going to be an ‘eventful’ weekend at Mahalaxmi Racecourse and NSCI, Worli. With roadwork on Arthur Road, Sant Ghadge Maharaj Road, and Senapati Bapat Road, expect slow traffic movement."

Additionally, the Mumbai Police issued a separate traffic advisory in relation to the Maharashtra Budget Session. From March 3 to March 10, motorists should be aware of various restrictions, especially for those traveling to South Mumbai. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Pradnya Jedge, outlined the following key restrictions:

List Of Routes To Avoid

Ramnath Goenka Marg, from Sakhar Bhavan to its junction with Vidhan Bhavan, will be closed to vehicular traffic as needed throughout the session.

Pay-and-park services have been temporarily suspended on several roads, including Jamanalal Bajaj Road, Dorabji Tata Road, Vinay K Shah Road, Ramnath Goenka Marg, and Vidhan Bhavan Road.

Emergency vehicles, such as fire brigades, ambulances, and police vehicles, are exempt from these traffic restrictions.
