Mumbai: Car caught a fire near petrol pump on Saki Vihar Road in Powai on Friday, March 6,2026. This incident caused panic among people in the vicinity. Video of this incident, shared by Instagram handle Powai live which shows car engulfed in flames. Fortunately when this incident occurred the surrounding area was empty road close to the petrol pump.
During this incident bystanders gather at a distance as a large cloud of smoke spreads across the area, partially engulfing the surroundings. The fire was extinguished and the situation brought under control, according to the Instagram caption. Details on the cause of the fire and the car model are currently unavailable. The vehicle was moved to the side of Saki Vihar Road to prevent traffic obstruction.
Earlier, tempo caught fire on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway in Maharashtra’s Palghar district. In this incident a 28-year old driver burn to death, while cleaner sustain serious injuries. This incident occurred on Tuesday, March 2, 2026 around 10:30pm, while truck was traveling to Gujarat-bound lane near Somta.

As per the PTI report, Palghar rural police a tempo was in motion when a fire broke out, quickly engulfing the entire vehicle. Cleaner Gurusewak Singh (38), also a resident of Punjab, managed to escape the burning vehicle but sustained serious burns, he said.
