A wanted delivery boy who had allegedly molested a woman in the Girgaon area has been arrested by V.P. Road Police from the Gamdevi locality. The accused has been identified as 29-year-old Shahrukh Mohammad Sheikh. After the arrest, he was produced before the court.
According to police sources, the incident occurred when the accused visited the complainant’s house to deliver a package. He allegedly removed his pants and performed an obscene act in front of the woman, thereby outraging her modesty.

The 28-year-old woman resides in the Girgaon area with her family. On March 21, she had ordered some items from a private company. After placing the order, Shahrukh reportedly called her twice to confirm her address, which she shared with him over the phone. He later arrived at her residence at night with the delivery package.
Assuming she was alone at home, the accused allegedly removed his pants and engaged in indecent behaviour. Shocked and distressed, the woman immediately informed her husband about the incident. Upon learning of the incident, her husband confronted and physically assaulted the accused.
However, the accused managed to escape from the spot. The victim and her husband then contacted the company’s customer care to lodge a complaint. Taking serious note of the issue, the company summoned Shahrukh Sheikh for inquiry, but he failed to appear. Following this, the woman approached the V.P. Road Police Station and registered a molestation complaint.
A case was filed under relevant sections, and the accused went into hiding. Police had launched a manhunt to trace him. During the ongoing investigation, the police received a tip-off that Shahrukh would be near Kennedy Bridge in Gamdevi. Acting swiftly, plainclothes officers laid a trap and nabbed him from the location.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to having committed the act of molestation, police said. Further investigation is underway.
