A scheduled 14-hour water supply interruption has been announced for parts of Bandra and Khar in Mumbai’s western suburbs due to urgent pipeline repairs. The municipal water supply department said a leakage was detected in a 900 mm diameter pipeline linked to the Pali Hill reservoir, making immediate repair essential. The work is planned for Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 10 am to 12 midnight. During this period, several localities will face a complete shutdown, while a few areas will receive water at reduced pressure. Residents have been advised to prepare in advance.

According to civic officials, the repair will be carried out on pipelines passing through an open MHADA plot near the Qureshi Nagar slum in Bandra West and another stretch running along the Western Express Highway. As a precautionary step, citizens have been urged to store sufficient water before the shutdown begins. The water department has also appealed to residents to boil and filter drinking water for the next few days once supply resumes, to ensure safety and avoid any health-related issues that could arise after maintenance work.

Areas facing a total water cut include large parts of Bandra West such as Hill Road, Perry Road, Pali Village, Carter Road, Mount Mary Cathedral surroundings, Chapel Road, Veronica Road and adjoining localities. Several pockets of Khar West, including Khar Danda, Chuim Village, Koliwada and nearby slum areas, will also be affected. Meanwhile, areas from the end of Hill Road to Taj Land, including B.J. Road and Ganesh slum areas, will receive low-pressure water supply between 1 am and 4.30 am.
