The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has stated that water supply will be affected in the Bandra and Khar region on March 28 and 29. The water cut is announced because the civic body will carry out work for a new pipeline in Bandra West on March 28 to improve water supply to the Pali Hill reservoir. The pipeline work is expected to be completed in 16 hours. During this time, the water supply will be fully shut off in parts of Bandra and Khar. The pipeline commissioning work will begin from 11 pm on March 28 and end around 5 pm on March 29. The surrounding regions of Bandra and Khar may experience low water pressure on March 29.

The civic has laid a 750 mm diameter main water pipeline at the junction of Ramdas Nayak Marg, Swami Vivekanand Marg, and R. K. Patkar Marg in Bandra West. This task was undertaken to improve supply to the Pali Hill reservoir.

As there will be a disruption in the water supply, the BMC has asked residents to store water and cooperate with the civic authorities. The residents are also requested to boil water before consumption for the next 4 to 5 days as a precautionary measure.
