Residents of areas east of the Eastern Express Highway, including MHADA Colony and Hari Om Nagar, as well as areas west of the highway up to Mulund Station, will face a water supply shutdown today, due to damage to a 750mm diameter main water pipeline in Mulund East.

The pipeline was damaged on March 17, 2025, during micro-tunneling work by the Sewage Treatment Plant Department. This resulted in significant water leakage near Hari Om Nagar and MHADA Colony drain. The Assistant Engineer (Water Works), Maintenance Eastern Suburbs, Ghatkopar, has undertaken repair work on a war footing.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) expects that the repair will take 12 to 14 hours, and the water supply will be restored upon completion. In the meantime, residents are urged to use water sparingly and cooperate with the administration.
