Mumbai Weather Forecast: Hot Days Likely Ahead As Temperature Hits 37.4 Degree Celsius

India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned that Mumbai will likely experience a hot day in the coming days as the daytime maximum temperature increased 4.4 degrees Celsius to 7.4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, March 5, a rise above normal. Earlier, the city reported heatwaves in the last week of February 2025.

IMD predicted that the rising trend in temperature with the maximum is expected to touch 38 degrees Celsius on Sunday, March 9. The IMD's regional observatory in Santacruz reported a maximum temperature of 37.4 degrees Celsius, while the Colaba observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 33.4 degrees Celsius, which was 2.2 degrees Celsius above normal and slightly higher than Tuesday's 33.1 degrees Celsius.

Extreme Temperatures Expected:

Kalyan, Dombivli, Bhiwandi, and Badlapur are expected to experience the most intense heat, with temperatures soaring to 43 degrees Celsius. This represents a 5 degree Celsius increase compared to the previous week. In Mulund, Thane, and Bhandup, Temperatures are predicted to reach 41-42 degrees Celsius, a 4 degree Celsius rise.

Navi Mumbai, Airoli, Ghansoli, Vashi, Kharghar, and Belapur are expecting similar temperatures of 41-42 degrees Celsius, marking a 5 degree Celsius increase. Powai, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, and Chembur will see temperatures around 39-40 degrees Celsius, marking a 4 degree Celsius increase.

Borivali, Malad, Kandivali, Andheri, Vile Parle, Santacruz, Khar and Bandra residents can expect temperatures of approximately 39 degree Celsius, a 4 degree Celsius rise.

Mira-Bhayandar, Vasai, Virar, and Palghar, these areas will also experience temperatures around 39 degree Celsius.In Matunga, Dadar, Worli, Parel, Byculla, and Mumbai Central, temperatures are anticipated to be 37-38 degree Celsius, a 4 degree Celsius increase. Malabar Hill, Churchgate, Fort, and Colaba, southern part of Mumbai will experience slightly lower temperatures of 36 degree Celsius, still a 3 degree Celsius increase.
