Mumbai Weather Update: City’s Climate Remains Hot and Humid, AQI Remains ‘Good’

Mumbai has started witnessing the summer season. The city continues to experience a hot and humid climate this year. On April 18, the temperature recorded was 33.6 degrees Celsius. As per the latest updates from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai will see clear skies on April 18. The temperature will range between 24 degrees Celsius and 33 degrees Celsius during the day.

The Sun rose at 6:49 am and is expected to set at 6:47 pm on April 18.

Santacruz observatory in the suburban areas of Mumbai recorded a maximum temperature of 32.8 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 24.5 degrees Celsius, stated IMD in its Mumbai weather updates. As per the weather department’s data, Colaba recorded a maximum temperature of 33.6 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 25.5 degrees Celsius.

The Central Pollution Control Board’s SAMEER app reported that Mumbai recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 57 and remained in the ‘good’ category. As per the app’s dashboard, many areas across Mumbai reported good AQI. The AQI of Bandra Kurla Complex was 54, Colaba 41, Malad 47, and Borivali 50. All the regions fall under the good category of AQI.

AQI of Byculla was 32, Vile Parle was 52, Kandivali was 99, Ghatkopar was 40, falling under the good category. Sewri, Worli, and Chembur too recorded good air quality with AQIs of 46, 42, and 51, respectively.

If the AQI stands between 0 to 100, it is considered good, between 100 to 200 moderate 200 and 300 poor, between 300 to 400 very poor, and above 400 as severe.
