The Air Quality Index (AQI) on Friday morning, February 20, was reported at 242, which remained under the severe category, with low visibility observed across several parts of the city. The temperature in the economic capital of India was recorded at 25 degrees Celsius at around 8 am. No chance of rain, with light winds at 3 to 5 km per hour.
Meanwhile, the maximum temperature can go up to 36 degrees Celsius by the end of the week, i.e. on Saturday and Sunday. The mercury will also be above 35 degrees in Mumbai city, suburbs, Navi Mumbai, Palghar, Kalyan-Dombivli and Ambernath.
The afternoon will be more uncomfortable as the humidity level is likely to rise between 64% and 83%. The concentration of PM2.5 rosed at 175 micrograms per cubic metre. PM10 was reported at 204 micrograms per cubic metre. Carbon monoxide levels were measured at 227 parts per billion, according to FPJ.

Meanwhile, cities surrounding Mumbai, including Navi Mumbai, recorded 267 AQI. While in the city, Malad West reported 240, Bandra Kurla Complex 234, Kandivali East 218 and Kurla 212. The Collector Colony in Chembur recorded 230. In South Mumbai, Colaba stood at 200 while Mahalaxmi recorded 198.
