Rahul Gandhi, Congress Leader and leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, reached Mumbai Airport on Thursday morning, March 6. Gandhi is on a two-day visit to the economic capital of India. He is likely to visit Dharavi to meet residents. He will also meet labourers and small and medium entrepreneurs from the leather industry from the area.

The visit here is the background of the Congress’ consistent opposition to the Dharavi redevelopment project being handed over to the Adani Group. Gandhi will visit Brand Chamar studio in Dharavi. Asia’s largest slum is world-renowned for its leather industry.

The State Congress leaders have been instructed to stay away from the private programme. Gandhi will stay in the city for the night, and will leave for Ahmedabad on Friday morning.
