In a major breakthrough, the Kala Chowki Police have exposed a high-profile sex racket being run online through social media platforms. A 26-year-old woman, alleged to be the mastermind behind the operation, was arrested after a well-planned sting operation by the authorities. Four young women, who were reportedly being trafficked, were rescued and sent for medical evaluation before being transferred to a women’s rehabilitation facility. The case has brought to light the increasingly digital nature of human trafficking and how tech-savvy pimps are exploiting the anonymity of social platforms to run illegal operations.
According to the police, the accused used to operate discreetly by sending pictures of young women to potential clients over WhatsApp. Deals were reportedly closed for ₹30,000 per woman. Based on a tip-off, officials created a decoy profile of a customer and reached out to the suspect, requesting four women. The woman complied, sending images via chat, and agreed to meet at a hotel in Lalbaug at 3:30 PM on a Wednesday. As the transaction began, a police team led by Inspector Nandkishor Jadhav swooped in and arrested the woman while rescuing the four victims.

Further investigation revealed that the accused had been targeting young women at various events, identifying potential recruits, and luring them into the sex trade. The police suspect that she was part of a larger syndicate and are now working to trace other individuals involved. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA). Authorities have assured that further details will emerge as the investigation progresses.
