18 cagers selected for Khelo India Centre

Nagpur, June 16

The Department of Sports and Physical Education of RTM Nagpur University has declared the names of 18 players including 11 girls and seven boys for SAI's Khelo India Basketball Centre. Former national player and NIS coach Smita Bakre has been appointed coach. The list of selected players was declared by Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Sports and Physical Education, RTMNU on Wednesday.

Selected players

Girls: Gunjan Mantri, Mrunmayee Dhananjay, Kanishka Mande Samruddhi Ravindr,a Mihira Dhote, Shreshtha Agrawal, Samruddhi Agrawal, Shoira Bidaye, Dhara phate, Rutuja Karkade and Namrata Desai.

Boys: Shazil Jahil, Shlok Dudhmogre, Shashank Ghadge, Prathmesh Rakesh, Yash Meshram, Chritaksh Shrihari and Taran Kakkad. bo

39 athletes selected

As many as 30 athletes including 17 girls and 13 boys have been selected by Sports Authority of India for its Khelo India Athletics Coaching Centre which is going to be set up at the sports complex of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Ravi Nagar. The selection trials were held in the month of February. Former national-level athlete Sayali Waghmare has been appointed as the coach.

Girls: Bhavyashri Mahalle, Mitali Bhoyar, Prutha Godbole, Lavanya Nagarkar, Kashish Bhagat, Jhanvi Kirudkar, Dhanlaxmi Kachre, Akansha Soudiya, Sanvi Pathak, Kavya Mayekar, Arya Kore, Priti Chavan, Shreya Jana, Viditi Meshram, Samiksha Patne, Anushka Bodile, Swati Uikey.

Boys: Atharva Khope, Madhav Gupta, Adarsh Vandle, Harshal Joge, Rahil Khan, Raghav Thakre, Om Itkelwar, Sahil Lahane, Sujal Potbhare, Shrikant Ramkumar, Prerit Kavishwar, Alok Sharma and Munsif Ali.
