The event was inaugurated by Minister of State Ashish Jaiswal. Municipal Council president Bikendra Mahajan, Corporator Sumit Kothari, and several other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. The event, organised in the backdrop of the Vidarbha Premier League (VPL), received an enthusiastic response from cricket lovers.
The trials were attended by VPL Council Chairman Prashant Vaidya, former BCCI Selection Committee Chairman Chetan Sharma, former national selection committee member Shubhratu Banerjee, Indian cricketer Umesh Yadav, Vikas Gaute, and members of the Vidarbha Cricket Association women’s selection committee.
The trials were open to male players in the 16 to 25 age group and female players in the 15 to 23 age group. A total of 204 players from Nagpur district participated and showcased their bowling skills. Video recordings of the trials were made, and talented players will be shortlisted for further selection.
The event was successfully organised with the support of Vidarbha Cricket District Committee president Nitesh Upadhyay, District Rural Sports Association president Adv. Sanjeev Khandelwal, Veeresh Astankar, Ghanshyam Barve, Mahendra Yerpude, Rajesh Takale, Avi Kavishwar, Amol Khadotkar, Praveen Papadkar, Rahul Piprodhe, and other committee members.
