Nagpur, Dec 30

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected business across and automobile sector was also badly affected.

Around 30 per cent less vehicles were sold this year than in the last fiscal during the same period. In 2019, 1,33,069 vehicles were registered in RTO Nagpur’s, East and Rural Office, which decreased by 40,415 to 30.37 percent to 92,654 in 2020. At the same time, RTO revenue has also decreased by 20 percent.

In 2019, RTOs three offices collectively earned a revenue of `381,2,56,620, which decreased to `76,93,18,08 in 2020, registering a drop of 20.18 percent to `304,31,38,612. This is the first time in the past several years that the revenue of RTO has decreased because the graph of income usually increases every year.
