Earlier in the day, Vidarbha stretched their first innings to 295 as Yash Rathod's long vigil at the crease ended. Rathod's 115 came off 191 deliveries and included 14 boundaries. Vidarbha pacers then made early inroads into the Andhra innings, preventing them from piling up a big score. Darshan Nalkande, Nachiket Bhute and Aditya Thakare picked up two wickets each while spinners Harsh Dubey and Parth Rekhade kept things tight.

Opener Abhishek Reddy top-scored with 73 while Saurabh Kumar contributed 62.

By close of play Vidarbha had stretched their lead to 71 runs with all second innings wickets intact.
