As she arrived at Nagpur Airport today at 11 a.m., she received a grand welcome led by Samiksha Singh, a national silver medalist (U-17 – 7th National Boxing Championship). All the boxing players, coaches, and fans from Mankapur Stadium greeted her with showers of flowers. Alfiya’s success has not only made the city proud but has also become a source of inspiration for the younger generation.

Samiksha Singh said, “Alfiya has proved that dreams come true through hard work. This is a victory for all of us.”

Rising from the streets of Nagpur, Alfiya Pathan has brought glory to the city in the field of sports. By winning a silver medal at the Asian level, she has demonstrated that with determination, anything is possible—even with limited resources. Inspired by her success, five young boxers from Nagpur are now ready to represent the city at national and international levels. They are Anant Deshmukh (SAI NCOE Rohtak & Delhi Sports School), Samiksha Singh (SAI NCOE Rohtak & Delhi Sports School), Malhar Sable (SAI NCOE Sambhajinagar), Arya Kothi (ASI Pune SSCB)

Garima Singh (Delhi Sports School)

There is strong belief that these young athletes will follow in Alfiya’s footsteps and achieve even greater success in the future.

Several prominent figures from the sports fraternity attended the welcome ceremony, including NIS coaches Ronak, Milind Sable, Pradeep Singh, Neeraj Kothi; Dronacharya Awardee Vijay Muneshwar; Akram Pathan, Pratap Patil, coach Ganesh Purohit, Advocate Puraskar Kotwal, corporator Shailesh Pandey, Pramod Singh, Dinesh Chhapa, District Sports Officer Vijay Chaudhary, Maya Duble, and many others.
