This prestigious tournament is jointly organised by Disability Advocacy Research and Education (DARE) and the All Marathi Chess Association for the Visually Challenged (AMCAVC), under the esteemed aegis of the All India Chess Federation for the Blind (AICFB). The event is graciously hosted by Dnyanjyoti Niwasi Andh Vidyalaya, Nagalwadi, Hingna, Nagpur, which has generously provided free lodging and boarding to all participants, fostering a warm and inclusive environment.

The grand inauguration ceremony was made memorable by the presence of Dr. Shaila Deshpande and Professor Dr. Bhau Daydhar, who officially inaugurated the tournament by making the ceremonial first move on the chessboard. The event was further graced by Dr. Manish Thool, General Secretary of AICFB, along with other esteemed dignitaries, including Pradhyapak Laxman Khapekar, Secretary of Dnyanjyoti Niwasi Andh Vidyalaya; Sanjay Ghoderao, president of AMCAVC; Mr. Kamlesh Manvatkar, secretary of DARE; Pankaj Bendre, General Secretary of AMCAVC; Manisha Kadukar, Executive Sports Officer, Nagpur; and Madan Bagayatkar, Vice President of AICFB.

The tournament features the participation of 80 visually challenged players from various districts across Maharashtra. Over the course of three competitive days, the players will showcase remarkable strategic acumen, discipline, and sportsmanship, transforming the event into a celebration of intellect, resilience, and inclusivity through the game of chess. The tournament is being officiated by Chief Arbiter Pravin Pantawane.
