City karatekas excel in Censports

The online tourney was organised by Sports for All (SFA) Play. Delhi Public School, Kamptee Road school student Tannistha Ghosh triumphed in Under-17 section. Similarly in Under-19 category, Ashmit Kedar of Sevasada School won gold. In under-19 girls section, Shravani Nitey (Narayana Vidyalayam, Wardha Rd) achieved first place.

Those who bagged first place in their respective categories include Prashabdhi Nikose , Neil Dhume, Prachita Patil, Tushit Nikose.

In all 1830 children in the age groups of 7 to 17 years, from 433 schools around the world took part in the 10-day event. In the girls event, Tannistha proved much superior to CPS, Wardhaman Nagar’s Harshitha Jhanwar and Parul Gondane of CPS Amt, who finished second and third respectively. The finals for karate (kata) were telecast live on YouTube. Director of Centre Point Group of Schools Radhika Rajwade, Executive Director of Centre Point Group of Schools Mukta Chatterjee, Principal of Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass Radhika Mehra and viceprincipals congratulated winners and participants of Censports. They also thanked the organisers from SFA Play and the sponsors from Enerzal for extending their support.

U9 Girls: Shravani Nitey (Narayana Vidyalayam, Wardha Rd), Aneeka Gupta (CPS I), Kavya Kharapkar (School of Scholars, Hudkeshwar). U11 Boys: Daksh Jain (Podar International School, Powai, Mumbai), Arnav Agarwal (CPS I), Vihaan Gupta (CPS I). U11 Girls: Prashabdhi Nikose (St Joseph’s Convent School, Nag), Moksha Kothari (CPS,WN), Harshita Wadhwa (CPS I). U13 Boys: Neil Dhume (CPS, Katol Road), Dheer Patel, ( Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai), Nasir Chimthanawala (CPS, WN). U13 Girls: Prachita Patil (Bhavan’s BPVM, Nagpur), Unnati Dhimole (CPS, WN), Sia Sajith (Ambassador School, Dubai). U15 Boys: Tushit Nikose (St Joseph’s Convent School, Nag), Tanishq Gawali (Central India Public School, Kamptee Rd), Harsh Shah (Chettinad Vidyashram, Chennai). U15 Girls: Vidhi Nandeshwar (Holy Cross Convent School, Kalyan West, Mumbai), Aakanksha Turankar (Bhavan’s BPVM, Nagpur), SanskritiThakur (DPS, Kamptee Rd). Parul Gondane of CPS, Amravati Road).
