On the first day of June, 203 new positive cases were found and 12 deaths. The number of cases used to be 7,000 to 7,500 daily in April, it has now come down to around 200. This has brought some relief to the citizens. After about two months, the number of infected in the rural has come down to 100, which is again a good sign. So far a total of 4,74,808 infected cases have been registered in Nagpur district and 8,914 have died. On Tuesday there were 142 new cases in city, 57 in rural areas and 4 from outside the district. Among the dead six are from the city, two from the rural areas and four from outside the district.

Around 833 infected people recovered. So far, a total of 4,60,275 infected people have become healthy. The recovery rate has reached 96.94 percent.

In Nagpur district, 10,545 samples were tested on Tuesday. Of these, 6,859 are from city and 3,686 from rural areas. The district infection rate was at 1.92 percent, while the city had 2.07 per cent and rural at 1.54 percent.

5,619 active patients

The number of active patients has decreased rapidly in Nagpur district. On Tuesday, the number of active patients came down to 5,619. Of these, 3,522 in the city and 2,097 in rural areas. Out of this, 3,699 are in home isolation. ARound 1,920 patients are admitted in various government and private hospitals. At present, about 90 percent of the beds in city hospitals are vacant.
