Nagpur, May 6

The DRM office in the Nagpur division of the Central Railway has been closed due to the rapid rise in number of corona patients, but 100 per cent employees are being called to work.

The DRM office in the Nagpur section of the Central Railway was closed from April 16 to 30 to prevent corona infection. Even after that the employees were instructed to come to office alternate days.

The government order had mentioned that only 15 per cent work force should be called to office, but 100 per cent employees are being called for work.

The Carriage and Wagon department, Maintenance department has 100% staff working in two shifts. All staff in the Train Lighting department are on duty. Also Commercial department, TRD, Engineering, Electric Loco Shed, Guard, Loco Pilot are also on duty. This may lead to spread of corona infections among these employees. If DRM office can be shut due to corona, why are then employees called in office? Employees have raised the questions.

Railway administration indifferent

‘Some functions are mandator and cannot be ignored, but employees can stay safe if they take one day off and one day office. But the railway administration is indifferent towards the employees and they are being called to work every day, due to which they are more likely to get infected with corona.
