The Social Development Department of the Municipal Corporation has informed that financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh will be provided to specially-abled athletes for training , import or purchase of sports equipment. Under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary, the Social Development Department is implementing various schemes.

Financial assistance will be provided to the disabled athletes of Nagpur who will represent Nagpur city at the national and international levels for training , sports equipment required for sports , and travel expenses for competitions. For this, the Municipal Corporation has invited applications from eligible beneficiaries. On the Municipal Corporation's website www.nmcnagpur.gov.in the beneficiaries can apply under this scheme.

A revised scheme has been proposed with the aim of ensuring that more and more disabled athletes get the benefit of this scheme at various stages of the competition.

Monthly allowance for the disabled

For the overall development of the disabled and to enable them to live a life with self-respect , the Social Development Department of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation will provide a subsistence allowance of Rs. 500 per month. This assistance will be provided to the disabled beneficiaries in the categories of mental retardation , cerebral palsy , autism , special disability , and multiple disability. For this, one can apply on the Municipal Corporation's website. Application for the disabled. The Social Development Department has appealed to the disabled to take advantage of this scheme .
