Nagpur, Nov 7

Two criminals under the jurisdiction of Sadar police station assualted a fruit vendor, injured him and decamped with `1,500 cash. The incident took place on Friday afternoon around 3 pm.

The victim Akbar Ajmal Nadaf (25) stays at Shivaji Square and sells fruit on handcart. On Friday afternoon when Akbar was going from Gondwana Square, two criminals approached him and picked up oranges from his handcart. When Akbar objected and demanded money, they assulated him. One of the criminal picked up a sharp object from a nearby juice shop threatened him. During the scuffle, they also snatched `1,500 from Akbar. Akbar went to Sadar police station and lodged a complaint. The police has registered a case.
