Nagpur, Dec 9

The Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court quashed an FIR against retired judge of civil court Gautam Divekar and his family. The HC dismissed the FIR stating it invalid in the case of dowry harassment.

Justice duo Vinay Deshpande and Anil Kilor delivered the judgment. The complaint was filed by the daughter-in-law of Divekar Vima in Avdhootwadi police station in Yavatmal. The other members in the complaint included her mother-in-law Anusuya, husband Pankaj and three other people.

Vima had alleged in her complaint that she was being mentally and physically tortured for `3 lakh dowry. She had also complained about threat to her life. Adv Kartik Shukla pleaded the case on behalf of former judge Divekar.
