In a case, the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court has warned the director of school education that the department will have to pay a claim cost of Rs 1,000 per day, if a reply is not filed within the deadline. Wardha Zilla Parishad school teacher Manisha Gaikwad''s salary has been withheld by the government. For that she has been pursuing the case with the administration since 2017.But she has not received any relief as yet.

The proposal submitted by Gaikwad was sent by the Primary Education Officer to the Director of School Education. That proposal has been gathering dust. No decision has been made on that count. Therefore, Gaikwad filed a petition in the High Court. The court, meanwhile, gave the director of education enough time to file a reply, but he did not present his case. As a result, the court directed the director of education to take a decision on the relevant proposal within eight weeks. It also said that in case of failure to comply with the order, a claim cost of Rs 1,000 per day would be levied after eight weeks. The case was heard before Justice Sunil Shukre and JusticeAvinash Gharote. Adv. Bhushan Daffle represented the petitioner.
