Illegal liquor sales have increased in lockdown. In view of this, various teams of the Saoner police have started raiding several illegal liquor dens. The team took action at 10 places and arrested five people, including three illegal liquor vendors, and consumers. Liquor and other goods have also been seized from them.

The police raided a school near Saoner’s Pahelpar. Manish Pitambar Pandia (Pahlepar) and arrested him. From him, 45 liters of Mahua liquor worth `4,500 seized. This team also arrested the tipplers sitting in a public place near Nehru Market. These include Akash Suresh Dehria (29, WCL Colony, Saoner), Praveen Bharat Salame (24, Banabakoda, Sansaur), Dadarao Govinda Bawane (47 years, Malegaon, Saoner), Satish Dadrao Kharat (30 years, Railway Station Road, Saoner) and Vikrant Jayaram Marskolhe (26, Ajni, Saoner).

The police cracked down on 10 liquor dens in the government industrial training institute premises of Saoner. Around 20 liters of Mahua liquor worth ` 2,000 have been seized. Along with this, Sandeep Baswar (Pahlepar) has been arrested in the case of illegal liquor sale. After taking action at Saoner’s Chichpura area, 15 litre liquor of Mahua was seized. Accused Kishore Motiram Sahare (53 years old, Chichpura) was arrested. The action has been taken by API Shivaji Nagve, sub-inspector Sagar Karande, ASI Rajendra Yadav, Manisha Bandilwar, Nilesh Tayde, Prakash Thoke, Ganesh Uike etc. under the guidance of PI Maruti Muluk.
