Batting first, after early hiccups Lokmat made 156 for 8 in 20 overs. After losing explosive duo Sharad Mishra and Nitin Pataria cheaply, Devendra Sadavarti (37, 30b, 4x4), Sachin Khadke (27, 25b, 3x4), Sarang Walwatkar (22, 16b, 2x4) and Amit Khodke (17, 23b, 2x4) played sensibly and posted respectable total for Lokmat. For Loksatta, captain Rajeshwar Thakre (14 for 3) was the main wicket taker.

In reply, Loksatta were all out for 95 in 18.3 overs. Ajinkya Dalal (24, 33b, 2x4) and Dhananjay Khedkar (17, 14b, 2x4) showed some resistance. For Lokmat, Sachin Khadke who was later adjudged man-of-the-match claimed three wickets for 24 runs while Sachin Turak got two for 6.
