The tournament is being held under the patronage of Dattaprasad Shirsat, IAAS, Accountant General. The inaugural ceremony will be held at 9.00 am, with Deepak Kumar Gupta, IRPS, Divisional Railway Manager, South East Central Railway, Nagpur, officiating as the chief guest.
Five teams — hosts and defending champions AG Maharashtra, AG Gujarat, AG Chhattisgarh, AG Madhya Pradesh and AG Rajasthan — will compete for top honours. AG Madhya Pradesh, the runners-up of 2025 edition, will be keen to improve upon their previous performance. All matches will be of 80-minute duration and played on a round-robin basis, with two matches scheduled daily. Teams will earn three points for a win, one point for a draw. The team finishing with the highest points will be crowned champions, while the runners-up will also secure qualification for the IA & AD Inter-Zonal Football Tournament scheduled to be held in Kolkata from March 23 to 27. The prize distribution ceremony of the West Zone Football Tournament will take place on February 13.
