Nagpur, Oct 16

After about seven months, the passenger transport service of Maha Metro began in Nagpur on Friday. It began on Aqua Line from Sitabuldi to Lokmanya Nagar station on Reach 3. All safety measures were taken in all the eight stations of this route in view of the Covid pandemic. Thermal screening of passengers was done in the main entrance. Metro staff made it sure that passengers had worn the mask or not. However, there was feeble response from the passengers on the opening day.

Only countable number of passengers travelled in the train. However, they were with full enthusiasm. Children enjoyed the Metro ride while young girls and boys took the selfie on their mobile phones of the ride and uploaded it on social media. They made the journey memorable.

A passenger Sumukh Diwedi said the Metro ride has become enjoyable due to half ticket rates. Another passenger Dipali Sonkusre said she was waiting for long for the start of the Metro service and finally the day has arrived. Meanwhile, the Metro service will begin on Orange Line (Wardha Road) from october 18. In the coming days, Metro will get good response from people of the city.
