The Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has included the names of miffed Congress leaders, who were left out in the first list. The step has been taken to prevent the newly appointed chief of MPCC Nana Patole from facing unfavourable situation. The disgruntled former State president of Mahila Congress Charulata Tokas has been appointed as State vice president, while Sanjay Nirupam, who has been unhappy with the developments in Mumbai, has been appointed State parliamentary board.

While announcing Patole’s chairmanship, 6 working presidents, 10 vice presidents and a 37-member parliamentary board were announced by MPCC. Nana Gawande, Sachin Naik, Sanjay Rathod and Charulata Tokas have been included in the second list released on Friday.

Gawande, a former MNREGA National Council member, was the state secretary in Ashok Chavan’s executive. He has been in charge of elections in various districts. Sachin Naik of Pusad was the secretary of the All India Congress Committee; Buldhana’s Rathod has been the state president of NSUI for the last 15 years. Former minister Eknath Gaikwad, former MP Sanjay Nirupam and Janardhan Chandurkar have been appointed to the state Congress parliamentary board. All India Congress Committee General Secretary K C Venugopal announced the list on Friday.
