Nagpur master athletes bring laurels

The medal winners include Bharti Pajai (bronze medal in 5 km walk), Alka Pandey (silver medals in 5km walk and bronze medal in triple jump) Helen joseph (4th in triple jump & long jump), Meena Rao (silver in discus), Pushpa Zade (5th in discus & javelin), Sobha Rathor (6th in hammer throw), Vishakha Tamke (6th in shot put), Vanmala Kapse ( 6th 100 mt run), Indira Bhoyer and Bharti Bagde also performed well in their respective events. In the men’s category Nagorao Bhoyer won bronze medal in 10km run, Duttakumar Sonawale (two bronze medals in 10km run and 3000 steeplechase chase), Shashi Mane (5th in 100 runs), Arvind Bandekar, S Dhabekar, SK Yadav, Bhivgade, Rabinder More , Vilas Pajai, Bhimrao Meshram, Dilip Vidpi, Wamanrao Zod, SR Pillai, Deepak Chilkulwar gave their best performance.

The best six from each category in their events are qualified for the upcoming World Master’s Athletic Championship to be held at Daegu city in South Korea in the month in July 2026.

Secretary Sudhakar Patil and all executive body members congratulated and felicitated the athletes in a special ceremony, informs joint secretary Ishwar Deshmukh.
