A shocking incident has come to light from the Mahal area of Nagpur, where a group of unidentified people vandalised several vehicles, including two-wheelers. The incident occurred at around 11 pm on Tuesday, February 24, when a group carrying weapons created panic in the area.
According to the information, a dispute had broken out a few days ago after an ex-girlfriend became friends with another boy on Instagram. Angered by this, a group of youths vandalised the vehicles belonging to the Instagram friend of their associate, who lives in the Gadikhana area of Joharipura. They also attempted to spread fear in the locality by brandishing weapons. Some culprits were caught by locals and handed over to the police.

During the preliminary investigation, police found that 12 people were involved in the vandalism. Several of the accused are minors. Three have been detained so far, and the Ganeshpeth police are conducting further investigation. Officers said the dispute stemmed from a friendship on Instagram and was not linked to any religious issue. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rahul Madane has appealed to citizens to cooperate with the investigation and not fall for rumours.
This incident occurred in the same area where major violence broke out on February 17 last year over the removal of Aurangzeb’s tomb. Following a protest by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, two groups clashed, leaving several people injured and causing heavy financial losses. A curfew was imposed for several days. Given this background, police are taking the latest incident seriously and continuing the investigation while urging citizens to avoid spreading or believing rumours.
