Major clashes erupted in Nagpur's Mahal area on Monday night following a dispute between two groups, resulting in vandalism, arson, and vehicle fires. Stone pelting was reported, causing panic among residents. Earlier that day, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal organized a protest at Shivaji Statue Square, demanding the government remove Aurangzeb's tomb. For this protest BJP leader has balmed opposition saying their statement provoked people to come down on streets.

BJP leader Anil Bonde While talking to ANI stated that Congress and NCP SP leaders are responsible for inciting violence in Nagpur, claims protest demanding removal of Aurangzeb's grave was peaceful, but statements from opposition leaders sparked clashes.

Meanwhile the protest is getting violent, to control the mob police used lathi charge and fired teargas. In this clash Nagpur Police Commissioner Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singal was on the road. The police commissioner was injured after being stoned by the mob. Deputy Commissioner of Police Niketan Kadam was attacked with sharp weapons by some in the mob. In this, he suffered serious injuries on both his hands. He was first shifted to Mayo Hospital and then to a private hospital.
