The officer and employees of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will be reaching office on bicycles on Wednesday between 9.30 and 9.45 am, on the occasion of National Pollution Prevention Day. Additional commissioner Ram Joshi has appealed to all the employees to be a part of this activity and help reduce air pollution.
The National Pollution Prevention Day is observed on December 2 every year, in solidarity towards the victim of Bhopal Gas tragedy.
Joshi said that with the use of cycle, the pollution comes under control as well as it benefits the health of individuals.
Joshi has appealed to all the citizens of Nagpur to use the cycle on the occasion of National Pollution Prevention Day. Many organisations working in the environmental field will be also be joining the initiative.
The additional commissioner has also appealed to all the employees of NMC to come to office by cycle for atleast one day in a week.
