IndiGo Airlines will stop its flights between Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nagpur starting in April 2025. This means passengers will have to travel by road or rail instead. IndiGo had planned to fly this route from March 30 to October 25, 2025, but now Nagpur is no longer included. This decision is worrying travelers and aviation officials in Nagpur.
IndiGo started flights between Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Goa on July 2, 2024. These flights made it easy to reach Belgaum, taking only 1 hour and 15 minutes. However, the Nagpur service will end in April, with the last flight on March 29, 2025. The Goa-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar flights will continue. IndiGo officials have not explained why the Nagpur route is being cancelled.
Star Air's Nagpur-Belgaum flight is also likely to stop on April 15, 2025. Although the flight was popular, bookings have been stopped, indicating the service will end. This flight has been running for three years with government subsidies through the UDAN scheme. The subsidy period ends on April 15, so the airline is closing the route.
