A total of 19 teams including 12 boys and seven in the girls section are participating in the selection tournament.

In the boys section, Phoenix overcame NSCA 52-19 in a one-sided affair. The quarterwise score was 19-4, 13-5, 12-6, 8-4. Thanks to Jayesh Tambe who single handedly scored 25 baskets and he was ably supported by Ayush Chandel (8). For NSCA, Laksh Darane scored nine points.

In the girls section, DKM drubbed PBG 59-7. DKM dominated all the quarters 24-1, 15-3, 12-3, 8-0. Netra Damke (22), Pankhudi Bade (8) were main scorers for the winners. For PBG, Shravani Selokar scored four points.

Ealier the tournament was inaugurated by vice president of NDBA Hemant Balbudhe. On the occasion, NDBA secretary Bhavesh Kuchanwar, NDBA joint secretaries Mahesh Gaharwar and Sachin Dhage, Dhiraj Kadao, Kislay Rai, Pramod Palkar and others were present.

BOYS: Phoenix (Jayesh Tambe 25, Ayush Chandel 8) bt NSCA (Laksh Darane 9) 52-19 (19-4, 13-5, 12-6, 8-4);

GIRLS: DKM (Netra Damke 22, Pankhudi Bade 8) bt PBG (Shravani Selokar 4) 59-7 (24-1, 15-3, 12-3, 8-0);
