Prepare NMC sports policy immediately, Tabhane to officials

Nagpur, June 9

Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC)has been preparing a sports policy with a view to produce talented sportspersons in the city who can excel at international-level. NMC sports committee chairman Pramod Tabhane has asked the concerned officials to prepare the sports policy as early as possible.

A virtual meeting of NMC sports committee was held to discuss various topics related with sports on Wednesday. Tabhane presided over the meeting. Deputy chairman Lakhan Yerawar, Rupali Thakur, Sheshrao Gotmare, Zishan Mumtaj, Mohammad Ifan Ansari, Narendra Walkde, deputy commissioner Milind Meshrma, sports officer Piyush Anbulkar attended the meeting.

Tabhane said while preparing the sports policy importance should to given to all players instead of those who are studying in NMC schools. He said the policy is being prepared to provide sports facilities to the city sportspersons. He asked the concerned officials to prepare the policy as early as possible and put it in next meeting of the committee.

The NMC is planning to develop a ground in each assembly constituency of Nagpur. In this regard Tbhane paid a visit to four grounds and inspected the facilities. The remaining two grounds will be inspected soon. Tabhane asked the concerned officials to prepare the DPR of all the grounds and start the developmental work as early as possible.Tabhane also took the review of the proposal of playgrounds and training centres under central government's Khelo India infra Development project.
