Batting first, Savitribai Phule University team managed to score 129 runs for 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Deepak Gajarmal (32) and Baswant Gajalwar (31) made significant contributions with the bat.
In reply, despite Sachin Sonavane's 41 runs, Mahatma Phule University's team could only score 120 runs for seven wickets. Suhas Bhalerao contributed 29 runs but he could not prevent his team's defeat. Savitribai Phule University captain and player of the match Manish Gaikwad took three wickets for 20 runs. Sunil Mate took two wickets for 17 runs. Apart from this, Manish was also given the player of the series and best batsman awards while his teammate Sachin Surve was the best bowler of the tournament. Vidarbha Ranji team captain Akshay Wadkar and MAFSU Nagpur vice chancellor Dr. Nitin Patil along with Dr. Shirish Upadhyay, Dr. Nitin Kurkure, Dr. Anil Bhikane, Dr. Sachin Bonde, Manisha Shende, Dr. Somkunwar, Dr. Ajay Gawande, Dr. Rajesh Limse, Dr. Atul Dhok etc. were present in the prize distribution ceremony.
