Safelkar'Safelkar's accomplice denied anticipatory bail

The court has rejected the anticipatory bail of Ranjeet Safelkar's accomplice Jitendra alias Jeetu Katariya in the land grabbing and extortion case, in which they were demanding Rs50 lakh. Katariya had encroached upon a 'dhaba' situated on the land of Doman Pragat. To leave the encroachment, Safelkar had demanded Rs50 lakhs from Pragat at gun point. Pragat had handed over Rs 10 lakh due to fear for his life, but after Safelkar's arrest, Pragat had lodged a complaint in police station. The police have charged Katariya with extortion, assault, land grabbing and fraud. Katariya had applied for anticipatory bail to avoid arrest, which was rejected by the court after listening to the arguments of the prosecution lawyers.
