According to organising committee head Sachin Mathane the competition will feature matches in left-hand and right-hand categories across senior, junior, and boys and girls divisions. Additionally, a special category has been included for दिव्यांग (differently-abled) players. Around 500 arm wrestlers from 22 districts across the state are expected to participate in all three categories. Matches will be conducted simultaneously on four tables, overseen by 20 referees.

Arrangements for the stay of players and officials have been made at the MLA Hostel, while food will be provided at the competition venue. Chandrashekhar Dhabale will serve as the chief referee.

Top performers from last year’s state championship held in Amravati—Darasingh Handa, Erin Varghese, Aryan Gangotri (all from Nagpur), and Tauhit Sheikh (from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar)—are expected to showcase their talent again this year.

The event is being guided by the state association’s president and actress Preeti Jhangiani, along with general secretary Dr. Shrikant Varankar.

Winners of the competition will represent Maharashtra at the national championship to be held in Gandhinagar from May 29 to June 2.
